The name of the Association shall be Cheshire County Senior Ladies’ Golf Association.
This Association is a non-profit making organization. The Association shall not make a distribution of any surplus save to another non-profit making body or in part or in whole to the Members on dissolution.
The Committee shall consist of the Officers of the Association and six elected club representatives, three from the East side and three from the West side. The Officers shall be the Captain, Immediate Past Captain, Vice-Captain, Hon. Treasurer with voting rights and the President, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Competition Secretary (East), Hon. Competition Secretary (West) and Hon. Fixture Secretary without a vote.
Seven members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum.
Committee meetings shall be chaired by the Captain or in her absence by the Immediate Past Captain. The Chairman shall have a casting vote at any meeting.
Election of Committee
Members of the Committee shall be elected by ballot at the Annual General Meeting. Each Affiliated Club has the power to nominate one member of the Association from their Club for election, providing the Club is not already represented. Officers do not represent their clubs. One member from the West and one from the East shall be elected each year at the AGM to serve for three years. Members to be elected to the Committee must be nominated in writing by their Home Club. i.e. the Club from which they pay their subscription to the Association. The Hon. Secretary must receive all nominations no later than 30th September. Clubs of retiring members may not nominate another member for a period of one year. Casual vacancies of one or two years shall be filled by election at an AGM.
The Committee shall have the power to co-opt a member to the Committee to fill a vacancy for one year or less. That member may stand for election the following year if there is a vacancy.
Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Competition Secretaries and Hon. Fixture Secretary may serve for a period of five years with an option for re-election after that time. Nominations for any vacant position to be put forward duly proposed and seconded by 30th September.
The President shall be nominated by the last five Captains. She shall serve for two years.
The Captain shall be nominated by the last five Captains.
Conditions of Membership
Ladies must be 50 years of age or more and comply with EG County regulations. A lady who is 50 during the year may join the Association but cannot enter a competition or play in the Championship or a match until she is 50 years old.
Clubs shall be affiliated to the Association on payment of £10 per annum. The annual subscription per member shall be £4 and the entrance fee £1, to be paid to the Hon. Treasurer by 31st December. Members whose Clubs are not affiliated to the Association will pay an annual levy of £1 in addition to the annual subscription.
Members may join the Association after 31st December. They should send their entrance fee (£1) and subscription (£4) to the Hon. Treasurer, giving their name, telephone number and name of Home Club. If re-joining, no entrance fee is required.
The financial year shall end on 30th September
The annual audited accounts will be circulated to all Clubs with the AGM Agenda.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting shall be held in November, fourteen days notice to be given.
Propositions must be proposed, seconded and submitted in writing to the Hon. Secretary by 30th September. Voting for propositions, resolutions and amendments will be done by a show of hands. A two-third majority of the members present and voting at the AGM is required. Election of the Committee members shall be done by ballot
The committee shall be the Captain, Vice Captain and two Members to serve for three years, one from the East and one from the West.
Alterations to the Rules
No rule of the Association may be repealed or altered and no new rule may be made save by a two-third majority of the members present and voting at an AGM.
